Stuart has been writing and performing songs on acoustic guitar for many years. Originally performing in the folk clubs of Leicester, he now lives in Horsham, West Sussex.

His songs are drawn from a variety of sources including; arrangements of traditional British folk songs;  poetry; arrangements of lyrics taken from broadside ballads; traditional-style gospel and shaker songs and finally, his own compositions written in sympathy with the folk tradition and often inspired by traditional wisdom stories from the world.

What unites his material is his interest in how traditional and contemporary acoustic music and stories can commentate and shed light on the human condition

Having been connected to the folk scene for over thirty years (including running the Billingshurst Folk Club, West Sussex) Stuart understands the importance of engaging an audience through variety of material, chorus participation and gentle humour.

He is available for bookings in and around the South East Region.
